CNH Meeting

FINANCE REPORT

  1. Marty said he received a $250 refund check from the Peppermill
  2. Thank You Plaque expense for 2006 conference was $161.90.  Check written to Kathleen Schori to repay for personal expenditure. 
  3. Carolyn brought up payment for website.  If we are able to obtain a ATM bank card this could be used for the payment of electronic bills such as the website.
  4. No Bank of America statements have been forwarded to Kathleen.

 

PROGRAM CO0MMITEE MEETING UPDATE

  1. Draft Program has been put together
  2. Assignments have been given for inviting other speakers
  3. Per Kathy - Some speakers have been confirmed – Tom Harbour is confirmed but could change due to his scheduling with Fire season.
  4. USFS Board of Directors (BOD) is same week and they will not change date or co-locate.  Ed Hollenshead won’t be able to attend because of BOD
  5. Per Kathleen – She has contacted Cal Fire Director and SFM with the speaker requests.
  6. Speaker suggestion- get Lake Tahoe Regional Chiefs rep  (Mike Brown) for the panel on the OIG report and impacts on local government.

 

JOINING CNH CONFERENCE WITH OTHER MEETINGS

  1. Lake Tahoe Regional Chiefs (John Pang) liked the idea of co-locating their meeting; Marty to talk to Lake Tahoe Regional Chiefs regarding the idea at their next meeting (Wed, April 25).
  2. Kathleen talked to Frank Holbrook who organizes the CAL Fire, Fire Prevention Officers (FPO) dinner meeting in Reno (it is held at the same time as the CNH meeting at the Silver Legacy).  For 2007 they will be continuing to hold their dinner meeting at the Silver Legacy, but will discuss co-locating with our group for next year. 
  3. Kathleen to obtain Frank Holbrook’s mailing list for the FPO meeting to invite them to attend CNH while they are in Reno.

 

VENDOR ISSUES

  1. Carolyn mentioned that she attended the USFS team meeting and saw a lot of vendors that used to come to CNH.  When talking with them about not attending recent CNH conferences they stated - “they did not know about the meeting or were not invited.” 
  2. It was suggested that business cards be created to hand out to vendors when in contact with them at various meetings or incident bases.  Kathleen will create an example for the June meeting.
  3. Cards would have CNH logo and dates for the 2007 Conference.
  4. It was also suggested to send out vendor letters or notification cards in June inviting them to the 2007 conference.  Carolyn will contact the federal vendor coordinator for the CIIMT to get their vendor lists and addresses.
  5. Kathleen will talk to Michele James about sending a 2007 conference notice out to all of the 2005 and 2006 attendees.

  1. Carolyn has done some work on the website.
  2. The Scholarship link has been updated
